POM Safety Device

The VIP Center (Violence Intervention and Prevention Center) is raising funds to provide POM devices to students, staff, and faculty who are not able to afford this innovative personal safety system.

Our project is focused on the safety and security of students, faculty, and staff both on and off campus. Having a tool that helps our community feel safe in their lives enables them to be the best version of themselves.

What is a POM device?

The POM is a key-fob-sized device that gives you instant access to Creighton University Public Safety or your friends and family... anytime, anywhere! With the touch of a finger, the device can send text messages, relay location information, initiate a request for help and engage in a two-way conversation with an emergency dispatcher. Since the fall of 2017, Public Safety has offered students, faculty and staff the option to purchase a POM safety device, but not everyone can afford one.

P-O-M stands for Peace Of Mind. We believe everyone deserves to feel safe in their community and supporting our project would provide more POM devices to more students, faculty, and staff.

What is Crowdfunding?

It’s an opportunity to share some love with the essential campus causes that need our support. You can make gifts of any size to the Creighton Cupboard, the POM Device (Violence Intervention and Prevention Center/Public Safety), the Student Sustainability Action Fund and the ILAC Summer Dental Health Program.
