Student Sustainability Action Fund (CSSAF)

The mission of the Creighton Student Sustainability Action Fund (CSSAF) is to contribute to building a culture of sustainability at Creighton by enabling, supporting, and financing student-driven initiatives that collaboratively tackle interconnected environmental, social, and economic issues. The CSSAF is funded 100% by gifts.

The CSSAF Governance Committee is comprised of five student-voting members and six faculty/staff non-voting members who review applications and determine the allocation of funds.

How CSSAF Makes An Impact:

The CSSAF is unique because it assists students by bringing to fruition their ideas for projects and programs focused on sustainability and environmental justice. We help students live out our moral responsibility as a Jesuit, Catholic institution to care for creation. The Fund is designed as a way to enable students to care for our common home and live out the commitment of a faith that does justice. Funds raised are used for student-led, student-driven projects and programs focused on sustainability and environmental justice.

Examples of previously funded CSSAF proposals include the installation of a campus pollinator garden (2023), menstrual cup education and distribution program (2023), the School of Medicine Phoenix campus sustainability week challenge (2023), Nu Rho Psi move-out project (2022), and GreenJays energy reduction challenge (2022).

What is Crowdfunding?

It’s an opportunity to share some love with the essential campus causes that need our support. You can make gifts of any size to the Creighton Cupboard, the POM Device (Violence Intervention and Prevention Center/Public Safety), the Student Sustainability Action Fund and the ILAC Summer Dental Health Program.
